Sprout Seoul Review – Day Three

Don’t forget to check Days One and Two first!
Here’s a reminder of the scoring:
5 = Absolutely fantastic! Will order repeatedly.
4 = Great. Will order again.
3 = Pretty good, but not one of my favorites.
2 = Okay. Not super memorable, but wasn’t horrible either.
1 = Did not like. Would be willing to try again with a few add-ins of my own.
0 = Never again.
Thursday: Breakfast – Chocolate Explosion Chia Pudding (0)
First of all, I want to point out that the name of this breakfast is rather amusing considering when I opened the box Tuesday night, it looked like it had exploded chocolate all over the inside. I had to wipe it off a lot of the containers. The “explosion” part meant there was chocolate syrup and two different types of chocolate chips in it – so it was quite an explosion of chocolate. Honestly, I have never tried chia before because I didn’t think I would like it – and I was correct. It wasn’t even the taste that bothered me. I mean who doesn’t like chocolate for breakfast? The chia, though, was interesting – and not in a good way. Firstly, it was grey. Who wants to eat grey food? The texture of chia is something that is difficult to explain. It feels kind of like eating poppy seeds inside fish eggs. I tried to continue eating to see if I could get past it, but I couldn’t even eat half. It is nothing against Sprout, but I will not eat any chia again.

Lunch – Mexican Fiesta Bowl with Cilantro Lime Dressing (5)
The website says this bowl is “Made with peppers, purple onions, mixed beans, tomatoes, corn, brown rice.” From the moment I opened this container, I was excited to try this. You could smell the spices immediately, and it tasted as good as it smelled. This was put together perfectly and was not lacking anything. It was absolutely delicious! It was also very filling. Normally, I need to have a snack when I come home from work – to fight the hunger until dinner. Tonight, I didn’t eat anything between lunch and dinner, and I didn’t feel like I was starving because of it. This meal will be at the top of my list.

Dinner – Mexican Burrito (4)
I decide to keep up the Mexican theme by trying a burrito. They sent me three of these! They describe it as “whole wheat tortilla, chipotle hummus, peppers, red onions, lentil meat.” The burritos were quite a bit spicier than the fiesta bowl. Not only did it have chipotle hummus, but there were also slices of jalapeños – seeds and all. I had to take these out as eating a whole slice of jalapeño will eat my stomach. Besides this, my taste buds loved these! They were fantastic! Again, the Mexican spices were very pleasant, and the lentil “meat” made it look and feel like a real burrito. I would love to get these again!

Stay tuned for more!
